‘You deserve someone better’: Tearful JC Santos tells ex after breakup

MANILA – JC Santos has confirmed weeks of speculation that he and his girlfriend of 4 years, stage actress Teetin Villanueva, are no longer together.

The 29-year-old actor made the admission in the episode of “Tonight With Boy Abunda” aired Tuesday, where Santos was interviewed about his upcoming film “Mr. and Mrs. Cruz.”

Santos, a stage actor who transitioned to mainstream television in 2016, cited his career and lack of time for Villanueva as the reasons behind the breakup.

Asked to respond to speculation online that the actual “third party” was a person, and not his career, Santos only shrugged, saying, “Kung iyon po ang interpretation ng mga tao.”

Santos did not specify when the breakup happened, but said it is too recent for him and Villanueva to manage being on speaking terms again.

“Right now, napakainit ng mga nangyayari,” he said. “Tingnan natin.

Santos tried but failed to hold back tears when asked if he wanted to give a message to Villanueva.

Looking at the camera, he began: “Teetin, I’m sorry I let you down. Nandito pa rin naman ako . . . para maging kaibigan. You deserve to be happy.

“Napaka-loving ni Teetin, at hindi ko mapantayan iyong pagmamahal na iyon,” he explained to host Boy Abunda, before turning to the camera again to address Villanueva, saying, “You deserve someone better.”
