MANILA, Philippines – Both Tropical Storm Maring (Doksuri) and Typhoon Lannie (Talim) left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday afternoon, September 13.
In a bulletin issued 5 pm, state weather bureau PAGASA said Maring was already 495 kilometers west of Iba, Zambales.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development also said at least 2,103 families or 8,794 persons were affected by Maring in 109 barangays in Calabarzon, Central Luzon, and Metro Manila.
In a separate bulletin, PAGASA also said Lannie was already 640 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes.
With these two tropical cyclones outside PAR, weather has improved in the Philippines.
But on Thursday, September 14, the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will cause thunderstorms in Mindanao. There could be heavy rain from time to time, strong winds, and flash floods.
Luzon and the Visayas will have generally good weather on Thursday, with just isolated rainshowers.
