Defending champion Lucas Matthysse of Argentina and challenger Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines made their grand arrival in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday, with an elaborate ceremony at the Le Meridien hotel.
Pacquiao is set to challenge Matthysse for the Argentine's WBA welterweight title on July 15 at the Axiata Arena.
"We are locked and loaded," said Pacquiao upon his arrival. "I am more than ready and excited to show Malaysian fight fans the fruits of hard training and preparation. We had a very great training camp and I cannot wait to fight on Sunday."
Matthysse, for his part, is brimming with confidence that he can retain his belt and send Pacquiao to a second straight defeat.
"I feel 100% sure that I will succeed in this fight," said Matthysse. "I trained very hard to defend my title in Malaysia. I've already gotten used to the weather and time here."
"I'm in great condition, and I promise a great performance to the entire world," he added.
