The National Police Commission dismissed from service SPO2 Jonjie Manong-og who was involved in the death of a motorcyclist last year.
The police official was dismissed for “grave misconduct (2 counts), grave irregularity in the performance of duty, oppression and conduct unbecoming of a police officer.”
Manong-og and PO3 Jeremiah de Villa of the PNP’s Highway Patrol Group faced murder charges on the killing of John Dela Riarte who resisted arrest following a road accident in Makati City in August last year.
But the case on De Villa was dismissed by Napolcom on the account of his death. He committed suicide a few weeks after the incident at Camp Crame while under custody.
