One man in Massachusetts struck gold when he hit the local lottery jackpot not once or twice, but nine times.
Robert Lundstedt won the jackpot thanks to nine lottery tickets—all bearing the usual number combinations he would bet on—in four different locations. His numbers matched Monday’s Mass Cash drawing, and won $900,000 (almost P48.2 million) in total from the tickets.
But instead of keeping it all for himself, he gave two tickets away—one to his daughter Kristen and another to his son Brian.
Lundstedt, who is a carpenter, said that his $700,000 earnings (almost P37.5 million) will be used to pay off his mortgage. Meanwhile, his children plan to save their $100,000 (around P5.3 million) each for their college education.
The carpenter revealed that he had been betting in his local lottery for two decades, and even joked that he wasn’t “too surprised” when he found out he won, he told NBC 10 Boston.
