The Golden State Warriors waived forward Omri Casspi on Sunday, clearing the way for guard Quinn Cook to be on the playoff roster.

Casspi was on a one-year deal with the Warriors, appearing in 53 games, but had reportedly been limited recently by a right foot injury. He'll be a free agent this summer, but Casspi cannot join another team for the postseason since he was waived after March 1.

Cook, who has impressed the Warriors while playing on 10-day contracts, is reportedly finalizing a two-year deal to stay with Golden State.

A G-League call-up, Cook has played in 31 games with the Warriors and has been starting in place of the injured Stephen Curry.

Curry suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain on March 23 and is expected to miss at least a chunk of the first round of the playoffs, which begin April 14.

Cook is averaging 9.4 points, 2.7 assists and 2.4 rebounds in 21.7 minutes per game.

He had 21 points and hit five 3-pointers in a 126-120 los to New Orleans on Saturday night.

Casspi, the 23rd overall pick by the Sacramento Kings in 2009, averaged 5.7 points and 3.8 rebounds this season. He has played for six teams in eight NBA seasons.
