Motorcycle-riding men gunned down a police officer in San Vicente, Palawan Saturday afternoon.
Police Regional Office 4-B director Chief Supt. Emmanuel Luis D. Licup said SPO1 Marvin Adier, 36, a member of the San Vicente municipal police, was standing in front of the RLM Trading and Construction Supply in Purok Sampaguita, Bgy. Poblacion, when the suspects shot him around 5 p.m.
Licup said Adier, a resident of Purok Damayan, Sitio Inarayan in nearby Bgy. New Agutaya, was about to leave the hardware store on a motorcycle when the three suspects suddenly appeared and shot him.
When the police officer fell down, one of the gunmen again repeatedly fired shots at him to make sure he was dead before escaping on a motorcyle.
The victim was declared dead upon arrival at the Rural Health Unit of San Vicente.
Responding cops found seven spent .45 casings, one spent 9mm cartridge and a 9mm slug at the scene.
Licup said members of the San Vicente MPS and the PRO4-B Regional Mobile Force have launched a massive hunt for the cop’s killers.
