PH re-opens embassy in Adelaide, Australia

The Philippine Honorary Consulate in Adelaide, South Australia re-opened recently, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced.

Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano, during a recent command conference for heads of posts in the Asia Pacific region, said the DFA will be reopening some posts abroad aside from opening new missions.

Philippine Ambassador to Australia Minda Calaguian-Cruz administered the oath of office to Darryl Johnson as Philippine Honorary Consul in Adelaide, South Australia last March 1.

The Honorary Consul is responsible for promoting and protecting the interests of the Philippines in South Australia, particularly those related to trade, investments and tourism.

Also included in his duty is to protect the rights and promote the welfare of Filipino citizens in his consular jurisdiction.

The Philippine Honorary Consulate in Adelaide is located at Innovation House Tenancy, Room 23 and 24, 50 Mawson Lakes Boulevard, Mawson Lakes 5094.

It is open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:30a.m. to 3 p.m.
