Kazunori Yamauchi has provided a comparison between the processing power of the PS3 and PS4. In a long interview with Prima Games on Dec. 5, the producer of “Gran Turismo 6” stated the next-generation system should be easier to develop for when compared to the current-generation console.

I think you know that the PS4, compared to the PS3, the games are going to be easier to make because with the PS3 you had to really fine-tune the game to get it to perform well and put out high performance content. It’s not going to be as difficult on the PS4.

“Gran Turismo 6” is considered to be one of the last high-profile video games to come out on the PS3. The racing simulation title was developed by Kazunori Yamauchi and the rest of his team at Polyphony Digital. Sony Computer Entertainment published and distributed the software product, which was released on Dec. 6.

The PS4 launched in North America on Nov. 15 as well as select European regions on Nov. 29. In addition to the extra power, the next-generation system was designed to make development easier for studios.

Kazunori Yamauchi hinted in the past that of “Gran Turismo 6” could be ported over to the PS4 and may naturally evolve into “Gran Turismo 7.”
