Duterte, Robredo get higher approval numbers mid-2018: Pulse Asia

MANILA - The approval ratings of President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Leni Robredo both rose in June 2018 compared to their ratings in the first quarter of the year, results of the latest Pulse Asia survey revealed Friday. The survey showed Duterte earned an approval score of 88 percent, 8 percentage points up compared to his 80 percent approval rating in March 2018. Robredo's approval rating was at 62 percent, slightly higher than her 55 percent approval score in the last survey. Eighty-seven percent of the 1,800 respondents said they had "big trust" in Duterte, while 56 percent said the same for Robredo. Disapproval rating for Duterte was at 3 percent, while Robredo got a 14 percent disapproval rating. The survey was conducted from June 15-21, 2018. Among the top issues in the country during the survey period were the ouster of then Supreme Court Chief Justice Maria Lourdes A. Sereno, regional consultations on the draft federal constitution, Duterte's declaration that he will not wage war with China, and the calls for the suspension of the new tax system, among others.
