MANILA - Five people were found guilty of illegal drug possession in connection with charges filed over the deaths of 5 people at a rave party 2 years ago.

Some of the fatalities, who attended the "Forever Summer" party hosted by a popular toothpaste brand, were found to have overdosed on party drugs.

Two people, Marc David Deen at Seergeoh Villanueva, were sentenced to life imprisonment and fined P5 million each.

Three others were sentenced to 20 years in prison and fined P500,000 each, identified as Erica Valbuena, Thomas Halili and Martin Dimacali.

The five were arrested at a suspected party drug laboratory in Parañaque City in 2016.

Executives of toothpaste brand Closeup and its parent company, Unilever Philippines, were separately charged for criminal negligence over the deaths. The event and security organizers of the concert were also charged.
