LUCENA CITY—Police and rescuers are running against time to save the driver and helper of a trailer truck that was left hanging on the edge of a cliff in Atimonan town in Quezon province Friday afternoon.
A spot report from the Atimonan police said the still unidentified driver of the trailer truck accidentally lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a sharp curve in the area along the diversion road in Barangay (village) Malinao Ilaya around 4:45 p.m.
The wayward truck slid and consequently hit another truck parked along the side of the road.
The collision caused the truck to swerve and be left hanging on the edge of the ridge. The report did not disclose the depth of the cliff.
Police said the truck driver and his unidentified helper were both pinned down inside the vehicle and they both need rescuing to get out safe.
