ILIGAN CITY – Flashfloods hit two Lanao del Norte towns again and killed three people, an official of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said on Sunday.
Among those who killed were Ibra and Baida Gumban, a couple in their 60s, according to engineer Hadji Khalil Sultan of the DPWH 1st Engineering District for Lanao del Norte.
Neighbors said the couple went out of their house at the height of the flood on Saturday to get to higher ground, but the current swept them away.
He said 14 houses were affected by the flood in Balo-i, an adjacent town.
The body of an unidentified male, who was in his 60s too, was fished out of the Mandulog River here on Sunday.
