17 barangays in Calumpit, Bulacan still flooded even after Ompong left

Days after Typhoon Ompong has left the country, 17 barangays in Calumpit, Bulacan remained flooded on Wednesday, according to a report on Unang Balita by Bam Alegre.

Heavy rains from Ompong raised the water level in Pampanga River to 9.01 meters and led to the flooding of the municipalities of Calumpit and Hagonoy in Bulacan.

Bustos Dam also released water which also contributed to the flooding.

One hundred sixty-five families or at least 500 residents sought shelter at evacuation centers.

Barangay Sapang Bayan was one of the areas most affected, with floodwaters reaching up to five feet.

Hagonoy-Calumpit Road in Barangay San Jose was still not passable to light vehicles.
